It's been a good month!

So, it's been a great month for our family. Kaylee caught her first fish, Cameron caught a fish and his dad didn't, Kelton participated in 2 swim meets, I've been playing softball and Kurt just got done with his first triathlon. I'm so happy for everyone, it's been so fun. Kurt is my hero for doing the triathlon. He wanted to not do it a few months ago and I talked him into continuing the training. I'm so glad he was able to do it and he did a great job. I hope the rest of the summer is this much fun!

SCHOOL'S OUT!

I'm not sure how excited I should be, but school is out! Now it's time for no schedules, staying up too late, "I'm bored", eat you out of house and home...fun! Cameron had his end of the year track meet. He did an awesome job. Kaylee did her program for first grade as well. It was fun to watch them participate in all of that stuff. I can't believe Kelton is done with seventh grade. Where did the time go? I look forward to the time I can spend with the kids in the warm sun, or the rain, or in the house watching a movie. Summer, here we come! :)

Kelton's track meet

Kelton had a track meet and did so well...I'm so proud of him for pushing himself. I took some fun pictures of the kids on the tramp. We have all been enjoying the sunshine. Hope it lasts!

Easter, a time to be thankful

I am so thankful for my family. I was able to go to my new great nephew, Dylan's blessing on Easter Sunday. What a great day. The kids even cooperated and let me take a picture of them. How nice. It was a great day and I am so thankful for the Atonement. I don't know where I would be without it. I am so thankful for my family and the love they give me! I am truly blessed!

Fun Weekend

Kurt's nephew, Jason, came home this weekend and came to the house. We had a GREAT time. He came and so did half the rest of the family. It was great to see everyone and to see the look on Jason's face when he saw his car. The Emery High Auto Shop redid his car while he was serving in Iraq. Jason deserves it and was more than excited when he saw it. We are so grateful to everyone who worked on it. The family came and hung out at our house. I've never seen such big, empty pizza boxes before! Guitar Hero, Teteris Attack, Sequence and visiting. it was a great weekend.

************Training

Well, I had training this week at work. It was the physical training for us and it kicked my butt. I am very tired, sore, bruised but happy it's over. I put a couple of pictures of my poor knee on here so you could see what color half my body is. But, again, it's over and I don't have to get thrown on the mat any more!

Welcome Home Soldiers!

Good news today....our nephew, Jason, and friend, Sam, are both back in the USA from serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is great that they both made it safe and sound and we are thrilled to have them home. We are truly blessed to have people in our lives willing to serve our country and are so thankful that they are willing to sacrifice so much for all of us. God bless the USA!

I'm a Great Aunt....Again!

It's a boy! Stuart and Kristen had a boy yesterday. They named him Dylan Timothy. I've seen only a couple of pictures and he looks pretty cute. I'm excited to have a new great nephew to hold. I think this makes me a great aunt to 20, but I'm not sure of the exact number. I know it's getting up there. Between my big family and Kurt's ginormous (yes that is a word) family, I can't keep good track.
On another note, Denice had her tonsils out and I'm having withdrawls. It's weird how you just get used to talking to someone every day so when it doesn't happen it throws you completly off. All well, she should be back to work in a couple of weeks and I do have a phone! Get well soon, I need you!
And congrats Stuart and Kristen!

CAMERON'S #1

Cameron played Junior Jazz Basketball this year. He did a great job, tried hard, and had a great time. And....his team got 1st place. Good job Cameron! I was very proud of him. He's not one to touch the ball much, doesn't want to touch anyone by getting in the middle to get a rebound. But in the tournament, all that changed. He dribbled, he stole, he rebounded. The highlight for me was his basket (only the 2nd for the year) made the winning 2 points with 6 seconds left in overtime. You just can't beat that. I'm sure you can all imagine how much I was screaming and cheering. It was great. I'm so proud of him and hope to post pictures soon. He is having a great winter. First place in basketball, pinewood derby, third place in the speed stacks for the school, second place in speed stacks for his class and he made the spelling bee. What a great kid! Go Cameron!

Kaylee says the funniest things!

So Kaylee and I are driving home from my mom's the other day and she say's "Mom, how come you never tell me any stories about Jesus?" This catches me off guard and I say "What kind of stories?" Kaylee says "You know, stories about when he was a kid. Weren't you born then?" So after I get done laughing I tell her Jesus was born thousands of years ago and I wasn't that old. Kaylee replies "Oh, I guess I'll ask Grandma what he was like then. Is she His age?"
Yep, you have to love her.

New Stuff!!!!!

I LOVE new stuff! I also love when you get a tax return and can buy new stuff. My dishwasher is on it's last leg. I'm sure the Price family has squeezed every penny out of the thing. But, we need a new one. And I bought one today! Hurray! We also bought a water heater. Now, if you don't know, our water heater is located in the crawl space of our house. To get the old water heater out and the new one in, we are going to have to pull my carpet up in my living room and go through the hole that is there for replacing the water heater and furnace. I'm not really excited about this. I'm sure it will entail a lot of cuss words from Kurt (unless my brother in law helps as he is our Bishop). He might need to dig a bigger hole in the ground because we bought a bigger water heater. Which means it isn't going to get done as fast as I would like it to. Sigh....still...I got new stuff. And I really LOVE new stuff!

A new great niece

I have a new great niece. Her name is Kai and she is BEAUTIFUL! Julie is a great mom and will do well with a girl. Jackie is a proud grandma and always spends as much time as possible with her grandkids. I look forward to getting to know Kai. It's a little weird holding a tiny baby and remembering what it was like to have a tiny little one in my arms. I'm not sad that we don't have a baby, don't get me wrong. But it is great to remember those times. I'm thankful to be able to hold the great nieces and nephews I have and spend time with them. When they cry, I give them back to their parents. That's the best thing about being a GREAT Aunt!!!!

sickness and death

So one of my uncle's died this week. He's been really sick with cancer and finally lost his battle. I feel bad for my aunt, this is the second husband she has had to bury. It makes me think of the many aunts and uncles I have lost in the last 15 years. It's crazy. Most of them have been to cancer. For me, I don't think it's "if" I get cancer, but "when". I take care of myself and hope it's not true. But what are the odds? I have a sister, Barb, who had cancer. She survived and I'm thankful for that. But will I survive as well? I hope my aunt knows that I am thinking of her and praying for her to be comforted. This reminds me of how thankful we should all be for an eternal family and for the belief that my uncles and aunts spirits are still living. If there is a light in a horrible situtation such as death, it's that we can all live again.

Ace of Cakes

I was watching Ace of Cakes last night. It's on the food network and I love the food network. I think I've been watching more of the food network because everyone I work with is on a diet. Anyway.....Duff, the guy who owns Ace of Cakes says - He might come in and say "Wow, that cake really sucks" but he'll still say "wow". I thought about that for a really long time. It might suck, but you still say wow. I guess I need to start thinking of the glass as half full instead of almost empty. Maybe that would make life a little easier. If things are tough, find the wow.

So my friend, Denice, and I have been trying to figure out all of the cool things you can do on a blog. I'd have to say she is obsessed. It's so funny to hear her talk about it and show me things. She gives me a high 5 every time she figures something out. We listened to music and danced in the office today. It was so much fun!

It's 2009

It's 2009! Happy new year everyone! I hope this year will be great. I look forward to what is going to happen. The pictures are some I took on Christmas. What a fine time we had. I took time off of work so I was able to play games and mess around with the kids. It was great.
